About the Study
Most pregnant women take a multivitamin during pregnancy. Good nutrition is essential to support the health of mom and baby. However, there is little research looking at whether most prenatal multivitamins provide enough nutrients. The main goal of this study is to better understand whether common prenatal multivitamins are providing enough nutritional support during pregnancy. To do this, we will test the blood levels of several vitamins, minerals and other nutrients of pregnant women using a simple blood draw. Blood draws will be coordinated through a mobile lab that will come to a location of the study participant’s choice. Results of the test will be shared with study participants.

What happens to my data?
All data is stored in a highly secure environment using industry-leading practices. And before any of your data is shared with researchers for analysis, information that could directly identify you — such as names and locations — is removed so that your privacy is protected
Will I be paid for taking part in this study?
You will receive a $50 Amazon gift card for finishing the study. You will also be provided with the results of the comprehensive Multivitamin Blood Test for free (this panel typically costs $400 out of pocket). Once you complete the study, you will also receive a discount code to purchase products on the Needed website.
What is the Multivitamin Blood Test?
The Multivitamin Blood Test will test your levels of various nutrients, such as vitamins and minerals, and a health worker trained in drawing blood will come to a location of your choice for the blood draws (e.g., your home or workplace). You must fast overnight prior to the blood draw, and you must not take any vitamins or supplements the day of your blood draw until your appointment is complete. If you do take any vitamins or supplements before the blood draw, the health worker will need to reschedule your appointment.
How long will I be enrolled in the study?
Once you confirm your eligibility for the study and agree to participate, you will be asked to take an online survey and schedule your Multivitamin Blood Test. At the time of your appointment, a health worker will meet you at a location of your choice. The initial online survey should take you about 15 minutes to complete. The blood draw appointment should last about 20-30 minutes and should be completed within approximately 2 weeks from enrolling. You will receive your results within 14 business days from the blood test appointment. A few business days after you receive your blood draw results, you will be sent another short, online survey about your study experience.
Where will the study take place?
You can complete all study activities from the comfort of your home, office, or wherever you are most comfortable. Surveys can be completed anywhere that you have an internet connection, and a health worker trained in drawing blood for lab tests will schedule your comprehensive Multivitamin Blood Test at a location of your choosing.
